DCI – digital transformation of social protection systems

Communicating digital transformation in social protection
The Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI) advances the digital transformation of social protection systems – ultimately contributing to the goal of universal social protection. It brings together governments and partners to strengthen coverage and improve delivery through inclusive, interoperable digital systems.
The initiative commissioned by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and managed by a secretariat of GIZ, the World Bank, ILO and other national and international organisations.
Their collaboration reflects the shared commitment to interoperable, rights-based and future-proof social protection systems and comprises aspects such as technical standards, data governance and the responsible use of AI in social protection.
The challenge
Operating at the intersection of policy reform and digital architecture, the DCI addresses complex complex issues The communication requires clarity, coherence and a distinct international positioning.
